I am learning much teaching Learning from YouTube again this semester. Last week I was educated by my students about this:
It couldn’t have come at a better time in my thinking. In class, we’ve been talking about YouTube as a chaotic, random faux media universe that can’t be mapped with narrative, or any of the familiar lines of our youth. How exciting! And yet, of course, all (YouTube) videos are linear, the Wiki Game egregiously so: the shorter and more direct the walk the more fun the play. No more aimless surfing or glorious haphazard flow here. I am intrigued to pursue the study of other such defiantly linear paths and their straight as arrow maps.
